Another Knife
Here is another knife in the works, a fixed blade, about 95% finished. If you read about my involvement with knife “decorating” more fully discussed with the first knife shown on this site you will know that I am not a knife maker. My involvement is to bring my materials, ergonomics and aesthetics to knife kits varying from being made from good to outstanding blade steels. I’m still trying top ascertain what steel was used to make this fixed blade knife. I have added Caneel scales and have substantially modified how the knife was to look per the manufacturer’s design. I have also enclosed the jimping (the grippy bumps) on the rear top of the handle so as to be inset between the Caneel scales with the top part of the bumps just above flush with the Caneel surface so as to be functional for grip but invisible when the knife is viewed from the side. This knife is in need of final finishing of the handle and blade. While this would be a good all around knife I see it as perfect for cutting flake or opening packages from your favorite tobacconist. There’s a lot of good belly on that 2.5 inch blade in an overall compact package of six inches long overall.
